​Louie Hawas has a broad commercial law practice

Louie's expertise includes contract, corporations, securities, insolvency, property, and commercial leasing. He has also developed a particular speciality in retail leasing. 

Louie appears predominantly in the State Supreme Courts and the Federal Court of Australia but also appears regularly in retail leasing disputes before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.  Louie also has experience in commissions and inquests having acted for parties summoned before the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses into Child Sex Abuse and the Heydon Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption. 

Louie maintains a full time commercial practice at the Bar and also sits part time as a member on the Administrative Appeals Tribunal having been appointed to that position in March 2016. 

Before coming to the Bar, Louie practised as a solicitor at Arnold Bloch Leibler.
