Jessica Apel practises in commercial and public law.

Jessica has been briefed to appear in proceedings in state and federal courts and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. She has also advised on a variety of commercial law, public law and regulatory issues.

Before coming to the Bar, Jessica practised as a solicitor in the competition and commercial litigation teams at Ashurst, with a particular focus on competition and consumer law, energy law, regulatory investigations, civil penalty proceedings, and access regulation matters.

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, where she received multiple awards for academic achievement. Jessica also completed a Master of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne.

Jessica read with Andrew Barraclough and her senior mentor was Penny Neskovcin KC (as her Honour then was).
