Jeremy Twigg KC appears regularly in the Supreme Courts and Courts of Appeal. Jeremy also has an extensive arbitration practice in both domestic and international arbitration. He is also a graded arbitrator and an adjudicator. Jeremy has extensive trial experience in commercial litigation in both State and Federal jurisdictions. He is regularly briefed to advise and appear in complex contractual disputes concerning joint ventures, partnerships, development agreements and trade contracts. Jeremy is also experienced in Corporations Act and Australian Consumer Law matters.
Jeremy has particular expertise advising and appearing in complex and large scale construction and engineering litigation. He has been briefed in matters relating to commercial, industrial, mining and engineering projects. Jeremy has also gained significant experience acting for architects, project managers and builders in professional negligence matters.
Jeremy has extensive experience in arbitrations and adjudications. As a Grade 3 Arbitrator and qualified adjudicator, Jeremy is experienced in conducting substantial arbitrations. He is a member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Jeremy has been called upon to give expert determinations and has undertaken a number of private arbitrations and adjudications on reference from IAMA. Jeremy is recognised by Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession in Construction Law.
Jeremy has a substantial property law practice. He has advised and appeared in matters relating to partition and sale of land disputes, easement disputes, trespass and nuisance and commercial and retail leasing. Jeremy has also acted in planning and environment disputes, predominantly relating to native vegetation.
Jeremy has extensive appellate experience, having appeared in appeals from inferior jurisdictions, appeal to Courts of Appeal at both State and Federal levels, as well as judicial review matters.
Jeremy is currently undertaking a Masters in Taxation at the University of Melbourne.
