Gavin Rees practises in commercial and public law.

Gavin specialises in commercial law, with a particular focus in class actions, industrial law and complex regulatory and tax proceedings.

Before coming to the Bar, Gavin practised as a solicitor in commercial litigation at Baker McKenzie and Gilbert + Tobin, where he specialised in advising clients in contract and corporations cases and in advising heavily regulated industries, as well as in class actions at the Australian Government Solicitor. He was previously associate to the Honourable Justice Nichols of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Gavin holds a Juris Doctor with first class honours from Melbourne Law School, where he was awarded prizes in company law, equity, constitutional law and contract.

Gavin read with Kate Burke SC and his senior mentor is Philip Solomon KC.
