Caitlin O'Neil practises in public and commercial law.

Caitlin has broad experience acting for government, corporate and individual clients in judicial review, criminal and commercial proceedings. Since joining the bar, she has been briefed in matters concerning national security, suppression orders, migration, torts, breach of contract, discrimination and industrial law.

Previously, Caitlin was a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor where she acted in complex and sensitive matters at all levels of the judicial hierarchy. She has also worked in the competition and litigation teams at Gilbert + Tobin, assisting corporate clients to navigate commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and merger clearance processes.

Caitlin was Associate to the Honourable Justice Steven Rares at the Federal Court of Australia. She holds Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts (Honours in History) degrees from the University of Melbourne, both with first class honours.

Caitlin read with Kate Burke SC and her senior mentor is Kathleen Foley SC.
